About Me

Vishni

Hi there! My name is Vishni, and I am a junior at Brandeis University just outside of Boston, MA, USA. My major is called Health: Science, Society, Policy and I am minoring in Legal Studies, Economics, and South Asian Studies. While I was born and raised in Boston, MA, both my parents come from Sri Lanka, and I am deeply connected to my family, culture, and roots. I am so excited to study abroad in Denmark and experience Danish culture while taking courses at DIS! My core course at DIS will be Prostitution & the Sex Trade, and my electives are Danish Language and Culture, Complexity of Cancer, Epidemiology: Danish Case Studies, and Health Economics and Health Policy in Europe. I’m interested in exploring human rights in the legal context of Denmark and beyond in the context of Prostitution and the sex trade. In addition, my public health and biology related courses align with my passions and interests in global health. These courses are definitely important in the continuing midst of the Covid-19 pandemic.
